We chose the weekend of October 10-12 because of the great weather, Monday holiday, and the big air show...

However, Oracle also picked that weekend to commence their Open World Conference,

and have commandeered many hotel rooms in downtown San Francisco.

Despite the hurdles, we have secured discounted room rates at the fun hotels listed below

(click the logo to book rooms at our rate)

Rates are valid for rooms booked by Labor Day.

On the Embarcadero, somewhat removed from the bustle of downtown, though only a few blocks away.

Combines the energy of the Financial District with the style of South of Market, right on the edge of the San Francisco Bay.

The historic building housed the former Army and Navy YMCA. The rooms are small, yet clean, lovely, and the Bay View rooms have a direct view of  the Bridge & Treasure Island.

$209 / $249

A boutique hotel with interesting, so called ultra-modern décor.

Location is great  :

one block from

Union Square.

Rooms are reasonably-sized and start at $179 per night including wireless, iPod docks and flat screen TV's.

Another boutique hotel with interesting décor (Houndstooth carpet, faux crocodile headboards).

Location is great  :

one block from

Union Square.

Rooms are reasonably-sized and start at $179 per night including wireless, iPod docks and flat screen TV's.

A great budget option.

Rooms are $99 per night!

This hotel boasts a green profile complete with blankets made of plastic bags (?), lighting of recycled plastic bottles, and complimentary bikes to borrow.

Rooms are reasonably-sized, clean, and unique. Across the street from the Federal Building and diagonal from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the streets around here are not quite as 'clean' as around Union Square and the Marina.  About 7 blocks from Union Square.

If you want to be away from the bustle of downtown San Francisco, this family friendly hotel could be your best choice.

In the Marina (a bus-ride from downtown) an old motor lodge that has been renovated by the Joie de Vivre hotel line.

It is bright, colorful, simple and a good value with an outdoor pool.

Rooms start at $169 per night.

San Francisco is a hotel town.

In addition to the standard Marriotts, Hyatts, & Hiltons

below are links to a few other downtown San Francisco hotels that we believe are worthy of consideration

(of course, a few are overbooked that Sunday night) .
